wrapping up Christmas…

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.
I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you;
he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you:
You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel,
praising God and saying,
 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Luke 2:10-14

…the first ever celebration of the birth of the Messiah… a celebration given by God, Most High, to proclaim the birth of the Messiah… His Messiah sent to me to be my Savior… thus ordained before creation….

This celebration announced at night to lowly shepherds keeping watch over their flocks… announced by those created to be in constant worship of Him… a birthday party of sorts… easily the biggest birthday announcement ever made.

And, I, lowlier than those shepherds, stand amazed… amazed that He came to be born a babe… amazed more that I too can celebrate His birth… amazed most that He chose me long before He sent this One to set me free…
