when you have one mostly empty day…

A few weeks ago, I sat down with 5 different pens, 3 sports schedules, 2 school schedules, and one blank calendar. I mapped out our next 10 weeks of games, practices, and lessons. Later I added 2 work schedules and 1 Bible study schedule in. When I was finished, we had one mostly empty day… Labor Day, Sept 3.

So many times, lately, I feel the Spirit nudging…
seize this day.
I have given you today.
Embrace it.
Enjoy it.
Live it to the fullest.
There will never be another one just like it.

After picking Eric up from work last night and running home to pack, we surprised the kids with
a quick trip to the lake

3 children, 2 parents, and one furry creature packed into the truck…

we have 18 1/2 hours before
practices, services,
school and games
consume our days again

18 1/2 hours to seize the day
and be together

we have today

and this heart is grateful for a time
to run away together.
