judging most…

I am quick to judge most
that which I know least.

ugh… this ugly statement is the truth of my life lately.

I judge.
I judge harshly based on what I see.
I see what I want to see.
I see what others have that I don’t.
I judge them for their gifts.

I see so little
because I choose to see only a portion.
I don’t take time to get to know
the situation and recognize
that they are on their own journey
apart from mine.
I only see what I want.

When I judge most harshly
on what I know the least,
I really only see mumble jumble…
because what I see
is a puzzling reflection
of myself.

I judge to feel superior
and yet,
nothing shows inferiority more
than judging that which I know least.

Now we see things imperfectly,
like puzzling reflections in a mirror,
but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.
1 Corinthians 13:12
