snowy days and a 1000 Gifts giveaway

For years I have been dreaming of a
real-life blizzard…
you know, kinda along the lines of
Laura Ingalls and The Long Winter…
a snowed-in-for-real kind of winter storm.

The past few winters have been
a disappointment to this snow lover,
so, this….

made my heart sing!

The fact that it came with a
Level 3 stay-off-the-roads proclamation
made it a for-real blizzard!

Oh happy days!!!

Three days of staying home with mine.
Days of puzzles and movies,
of candles and popcorn…

filled this mama’s heart to the brim
with gratitude.

I realized that gratitude and counting gifts
continues to be the way I breathe.
So many times this week I exhaled
“thank You, Lord!”

It seems divinely timed that
a brand spankin’ new copy of
1000 Gifts written by the lovely Ann Voskamp
arrived in my mailbox today.

Zondervan sent it
specifically for me to give away!!!

I first reviewed 1000 Gifts three years ago.
(you can read my review here)

Ann’s book has changed my heart
and taught me how to find gratitude
in the every day.
1000 Gifts continues to be my favorite book
and, you can win it!

All you have to do to win
is leave me a comment.
Let me know what you are grateful for
or why you’d like to win.

  1. Believe it or not, I still don’t have a copy of this book. (I love all the snow pictures!) Since today is my hubby’s birthday, it makes sense to say that I’m thankful for him. I’m also thankful for the good work ethic that my in-laws instilled in him. He’s a good man who I feel blessed to be able to call my own.

  2. I am grateful for opportunities to visit with family and friends that I moved far from. I am grateful for being part of something that refreshes me. I would like to win this book because I hear it is wonderful.
    Good luck all.

  3. I haven’t read the book yet either and sounds great! I am so very thankful for my family! I have been blessed with an amazing husband and 5 wonderful kiddos. I never dreamt I’d be a mother of 5 but so thankful for my biological daughter and my 4 chosen children! I am truly blessed!

  4. I am thankful for a friend who blogs regularly and keeps my heart turned toward thankfulness and toward God when I have not felt it for so long. I have been in a long winter emotionally and spiritually and your comments are ALWAYS a ray of warm sunshine that god has used to keep me afloat!

    1. Thanks friend! Wish we were closer ☺️

  5. i LOVE LOVE LOVE your enthusiasm for snow my friend . . . it just makes me smile. 🙂
right now – i’m most thankful for “boring” days with my kids around me – all of us learning, growing, changing, but still – together.

  6. I would love to have a copy of this book because I do not have a copy of my very own. I have been learning to enjoy the moments of my life. As I was driving home from Warsaw today, I noticed the beauty of the white snow as it laid on the evergreen branches, and the branches on the trees. As it laid across a nativity that I drove by that was in someone’s front yard. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. There really is beauty in everything, if only we take the time to enjoy that moment.

I'd love to know what you think...
