joy comes in the morning

At 3:00 a.m. to be exact.

That’s when this little one’s lungs took her first big gulp. It’s when her momma held her close and she snuggled in tight.

At 3:07 we got this text “SHE’S BORN!!!” and that’s when my nana heart felt like it was going to explode.

How can one heart hold so much?

Or a better question best said by her Aunt Faith: “How come I love her so much???”

It’s the best rhetoric question there ever was.

She’s a few days old now and I’m finished trying to process it all. I’m surrendered to the fact that there is much that will make more sense as time unfolds and I become accustomed to this new heart of mine.

In the meantime, I simply am in awe of Miss Quincy Elaine and I cannot get enough of her and the joy she brings.
